5 stars (great game) - Very addictive game. I cruised through the first level and now I am really challenged with the second and there are three more to go after that. 5 stars (A Fun & Addictive Game) - I recently started playing several computer games, and this one was recommended to me by a friend - she said it could be addicting, and I must say that she was right! I have been playing Jewel Quest on and off for several months now, and it seems as if the levels will never end. I think this is a good thing, because once you solve a game, you usually don't play it again. Because of the sheer # of levels, this game can provide many, many hours of enjoyment (or frustration....) One of the great features of this game is that you are never made to start all over again - You keep working on the same board until you conquer it. After you've attempted the same board several times without beating it, you are given the option to just skip that particular level, and move on. I personally never choose that option, but I like to know that the option is available if I get too frustrated with the difficulty of a particular section. The goal of Jewel Quest is to match various items - you must match at least 3 of the same item in a row or colum. By doing this, you turn the "sand" tiles to "gold", and you must get the entire grid gold within a specific period of time. It may sound easy, but as you move along the levels, it actually gets quite difficult. Overall, I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys matching games where there is increasing levels of difficulty. My thought is that it's probably more appropriate for adults as opposed to children. 5 stars (Fun for all) - Fun game. Can be habit forming, if you do not succed the first time it lets you try again and again after so many tries it moves you to the next level, onlike some games that says you done for. some of the games do get boring after you have played them a half dozen times before moving to the n... 2 stars (A good game, but really outdated version :-() - My son and I love to play the daily puzzle of the game of SET at the website setgame.com. Naturally we were excited to see that this version listed "Includes online play" as a feature, because we have multiple PC's at home on our home network. The CD version I received gives the error message "Sorry, your IP address is invalid for this Demo Version" when we try multi-player mode. Then I realized communications options lists only 3 modem speeds - 1200, 2400 and 9600 baud. Cmon folks - This is the year 2005: era of home networks, broadband and multiple cell phones. None of my home PC's even have modems. At this day and age, cannot expect 2 analog phone lines at home to dial each other for "Online play" via slooooow Modems! From the "Help-About" it appears the game may have been last updated in 1994. The vendor really needs to update the software to be compatible with current computer networks. Other than the above gripes, the game itself was functional and looked good. However, I am returning the game as I bought it with online play as a major reason. 5 stars (I like to think it encourages mathematical thinking . . . ) - I've been playing the card game for years--it's wonderful. I'm so happy they've made a computer version so that I don't have to find someone to play against me! As a mathematics educator, I'll definitely get this for my classroom, because I think that it encourages the same kind of thinking required for conceptual problems posed in high-school math classes. (And, theoretically, it can be used to cover some mathematical concepts, like probability.) It's definitely a stimulating game--and I love it. 5 stars (Beginning Player) - I played the computer game SET for the first time last night at a party my parents went to. It was fun but challenging because the computer was finding more sets than I was in the beginning. Other people got interested in the game and everyone started looking for ... 5 stars (how can it be bad?????) - i will tell you 5 reasons why you should get this game and five reason why people say its bad. (my 2 brothers agree with me) why is it good???? 1.you get 8 chapters with 2 hours of fun in each chapter(6 hours if you dont know the answers.) 2.each chapter is challenging and you have to use your mind. (like in chapter 2 or 3 when your in the castle you have to figure out what to do to get inside without the gaurds finding out) 3.very good graphics 4. does not follow EVERYTHING of the movie plot line. and thats cool, because you see things you never did in the movie! 5.you get to play every character!(oh yah, the sound is good too) why do people hate it???? 1.the replay is bad. you would never want to play it again because you know the answers!!! 2.some plots wont happend untill the next day. so when you think your stuck in the game its not your falt the game is just late with the answers. i give up i cant think of a 3. so its your choice, i told you everyhting you need to know! now the quastion is....................................... will you buy this game???????? 1 stars (Gamecube version :cool, PC version: not cool) - When I first saw the box of the Spongebob movie game for PC, I thought it was gamecube, XBOX, and PS2 version. When I bought the game and started to play, I was really dissapointed. The whole game has extremly nothing to do with the real movie. How come in level 3: part 2: Thug Tug, you talk to the thugs. You have to defeat the thugs, not be nice them. In Level 4: Free Mindy. is very stupid. Why was Mindy grounded. Don't waste your money on this crap. Buy the Gamecube version better 1 stars (Difficult!) - My 6-year old son loved Spongebob Battle for Bikini Bottom and had so much fun with it I bought him this one thinking it would be similar. Wrong! This is very frustrating and difficult. Even I was stumped in several places. Unless you want to have a very upset child asking you to figure out every move, d...
