Nancy Drew- Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon

4 stars (One of Their Greatest Games) - This is one of herinteractive's best games. However i finished it only 2-3 days. I think it should have lasted 1 more day (on the jr. level). Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon is great other wise. I really like it. The ending/ culprit is really shocking and the puzzles (Pipe) were really cool. So, if u like all of the other games, get this one too!!! 4 stars (Great Game for All Ages!) - This game was definitely not what I thought it would be. I was expecting a really easy game, mostly geared toward young kids and something I may be bored with. Not the case... THE GOOD STUFF 1. The characters - the mannerisms and the personalities of the characters were great. I loved the phone chat with George & Bess. 2. The puzzles - they had just enough challenge to keep you on your toes. It stumped me at one point which actually made me happy. They had just the right amount of serious puzzles and fun ones so you couldn't get completely frustrated. 3. The graphics - A+! I was afraid they wouldn't be as good of quality but I was wrong. The detail was pretty darn good for a game geared towards young kids. The mine ride was the most realistic I have ever seen in a computer game. THE NOT SO GOOD STUFF 1. The length of the game. I'm sure they know what they are doing when it comes to timing the game to keep kids attention but I thought the plot could have gone on a little more. 2. The HARDYS. Ok, they're cute and all but seriously I got a little miffed that they got to sit around while I (as Nancy) did all the work. 3. Locations. I thought that they could have expanded on the areas a little more. I would have liked to travel to a few more places before ending the game. Also I think the train should have had more rooms to explore. A lot of time was wasted trying to see if the doors in the sleeper car opened. Syberia

5 stars (simply tradtional) - Syberia was a game that really interested me at first because I saw the graphics looked great on the cover and I also read really good reviews on it. At first it was staring out slow, but after the first 30 minutes, I was totally engaged not only to the graphics, but the story line. Once a person starts into this, there is no stopping because you want to find out who this Hans Voralberg guy is;half way into the game you feel like you already know the guy. I really did not have any problem with this game at all, except in the beginning, the voices were overlapping and all you have to do is go to the main menu, look at the options and play with the detail and then restart your computer, and the problem is fixed. At the end you feel like you know Kate Walker, which is the person you play, and it did not take me that long to get done with this game, but it wasn't exactly short either, of course I had the walkthrough papers beside me in case I missed something which I would firmly suggest. This game would not be for the impatient.The greatest things that you don't have to worry about are you don't die off, there is no time limit on anything,and you don't have to save alot. Once again I emphasize this is not a game for the impatient. This game is no where near reality in itself overall, but alot of things in this game are. For example an attorney trying to close a deal up, finding the owner just passed away, her boyfriend situation, things of this sort. I think this game is excellant for passing the time,and I suggest this for anyone looking for a tradional game. 3 stars (Lost potential) - These are a few limited comments because others have covered the game in detail. Nancy Drew Secrets Can Kill

3 stars ( Nancy Drew Secrets Can Kill ) - This was the 1st Nancy Drew game, and I have played all the games and I know that this is the least challenging of them all. The print-out walkthrough is only 6 pages long compared to 20+ on some. If you're new to Nancy Drew games I recommend getting this one first because it's so easy. 4 stars (Great game!) - I love all Nancy Drew games, but this one is sadly my least favorite. Don't get me wrong, I still loved it! The only reason I'm not giving it 5 starts is because of the graphics (the other Nancy Drew games have real looking people, this had cartoons) and having to change cd roms when going to a new location. That was kind of annoying. But other than those two minor things, it's a great game! 1 stars (YUCK) - I did not like this game at all. It is buggy and the Save and Load area is slow and does not work very well. I also dislike the switching back and forth between DISC 1 and 2. Save your money, this game not worth the money. Nancy Drew - The Secret of Shadow Ranch

5 stars (New Review!) - I like this item B0001XLSG6 very much You should read more reviews to find out more about it 5 stars (Her life is perfect!) - I Really like this game. it is so challenging and so realistic. (as you can probably tell, I have read the book too) the only thing strange is that alot of the parts in the book were replaced by "searching on your cell phone" or something. I think it would have been even more cool if it was in the early 1960's like it is in the books. Also, I don't think that you should have to be 10 to play the game. It is hard but it just takes you longer to play. But still, overall, This game is great and you should buy it. 5 stars (Secret of Shadow Ranch) - The life on a ranch is not as easy as it looks. Sure, feeding animals, picking vegatables, and getting eggs from the chicken coop is easy, but what about the part when you get attacked by a chicken who hates it when you try to take the eggs away from her nest in her presence? This is my favorite Nancy Drew game and book, and I beat it in...3 days. Basically a day for, well, a day. When a phantom horse shows up and causes trouble, its up to you, as Nancy Drew, to figure out who, or what, is behind it. Dark Fall- The Journal

5 stars (Fantastic!) - If you're looking for a game to really make you think, Dark Fall is for you. It is delightfully creepy (the designer, if I remember correctly, is a former ghost-hunter, and the knowledge gained there is evident here) and has above-average graphics. The game can occasionally be frustrating when you realize that the clue you need is going to make you backtrack, but for the most part, the puzzles are tough but solvable--a few require an extra leap of logic, which only makes it all the more satisfying when you figure it out. And, finally, I highly recommend playing this game with another person. Not only does that make it more fun--you *will* get swept up into the plot, and it's great to have someone to talk about it with--but having two perspectives on a lot of the puzzles makes it a bit easier. I played through it with my boyfriend, and we're still wondering what happened with a few of the characters... 1 stars (Old School) - This game was so boring! I love adventure games and I was terribly disappointed with this one. I did not find this game to be scary in the slightest, in fact at some points I found the ghosts' voices to be annoying and humorous. All through the game I kept wondering what the relevance was in what the ghosts were saying and should I write down everything that I was reading...this game has a lot to read. The graphics are not great, nothing spectacular. And the constant mouse swirl started to hurt my wrist! I love point and click games, but this was a tad obnoxious. Even the most obscure object/wall/door/etc. may be a clue and you just can't know until you click over it. I guess I prefer games that are a lot more straight forward and logical. I don't want to spend hours just swirling my mouse aimlessly around a particular scene in hopes of finding something. I am a true adventure gamer and I have played a bunch of really amazing games. Nancy Drew- Secret of the Scarlet Hand

5 stars (Great ) - THis game was so much fun! it is long but one of the best games i have ever played! 5 stars (Secrets Can Kill (12 year old)) - I've read the book on secrets can kill, it's very good, surprisingly the game was as good! You're undercover Nancy Drew trying to solve a mystery at a small high school in Florida, with a big murder mystery of a boy named Jake, your contact is Daryl, there a puzzles to solve and you'll find each of the suspects have a secret, later in the game you'll find out that Jake silenced them by making them be his servants. Anyways I didn't really have much patience as a detective (it would take me hours just to find the clues) so i usually go for help from the websites, uhs is a really good one, it just tells you where the puzzles are and what you have to do to get to the end but it doesn't totally help you figure out the puzzles, and it doesn't tell you who the murderer is. Anyway I really enjoyed this game it's the second Nancy Drew game I've played besides final scene. WARNING: the characters are two d, i know very disappointing but it's still a very good game. Saddle Up- Time To Ride

4 stars (I Love Horses) - I've been looking at this game for some time and finally bought it. I'm not sorry. I really like the game. I found that my horses have different abilities like some would rather not jump and some are better at the cross country. The area around the farm that you are aloud to ride in is fairly small but then you also have the four coarses you can practice on as well. There is also alittle interactiveness with some characters in the game that makes it a little bit more interesting. I find that having 5 horses to care for is quite difficult and can get a little borring. I can spend 30 minutes just in cleaning stalls and careing for the horses, but if you don't go to bed (in the game) you don't have to clean the stalls all the time, but if you want to compete in competetions then you need to go to bed to make the time pass. (a rock and a hard place). My horses seem to be getting sick frequetly and I'm not sure why at this piont. This is upsetting because you cannot ride when the horse is sick. Over all this game has been quite fun. I don't have a horse and probably wont beable to get one so this is fitting the bill for the moment. 4 stars (Captivating...even if too short) - This game held my interest. Some of the puzzles are complicated. I don't even know how I completed one. I was just guessing and clicking. I was very shocked when the game ended. It is a very short game. It held my interest and I thought about the combinations I could try even when I wasn't playing! My 9 year old is playing it. It should have a rating in between T and E. The violence is minimal at the most. 4 stars (Return to Mysterious Island) - I thought this was a interesting game with some real twist, figuring out how to make all the weapons was a real challange. 5 stars (One of the best out there) - Though not as grand as Syberia 2, or as visually stunning as Myst 4, this is one of the best games I've ever played. The story is intriqueing, the interface is simple and the item collection and assembly is a joy. My only complaint is that it seems too short. A bargain at twice the price. ...

Nancy Drew - Curse of Blackmoor Manor

4 stars (Very Challenging) - These games get scarier and more challenging with each release. This is one of the few Nancy Drew games I haven't finished yet. This one is REALLY freaky. If your younger child (8-10 years old) wants to try a Nancy Drew game, I recommend letting them play a few others before getting this one. This one is really, truly SCARY. If you are experienced with the Nancy Drew games, then you will enjoy this one. 5 stars (The Curse of Blackmoor Manor) - Ok, this is the Nancy Drew game that I haven't beaten...yet. It is freaky yet interesting, in a way. Ok, so you have bad dreams, and you hear noices, and things, but there IS a slide involved! You'll find that out once you get the game. I like this game, even though it's a "little on the spooky side" as Nancy takes to calling it. Can you figure out why Eleanor, supposedly the witch in the family of the Penvellyns, or the beast of blackmoor, just came around and "popped in for a visit?" A game of freaky music, adventure, and puzzles, this is a 5 star game you MUST GET! Nancy Drew- Danger on Deception Island

4 stars (The Final Scene) - This game was exciting. I'm not really one for games that make me nervous and this one did. I was too much of a whimp to play it myself because it is so life like and makes you feel like you're actually in the game, but I watched my brother play it (he wanted to know why I didn't want to play it so he played it). It really was a good game. 5 stars (You go, Nancy Drew!) - This game is so fun, and unlike most mystery games, it isn't bloody, or anything for that matter. I am a huge fan of the Nancy Drew books also. 2 years ago when I got this game, It made me so nervous, I was sweating inside my new Christmas slippers! It is so realistic, and I acctually ended up having to ask my mom to help me with some parts. The characters aren't cartoony, either. here are my ratings on a scale from 1 to 5 (five being best): Storyline:5! Characters:4 music:5! Setting:5! The cool thing is that you get to explore the whole castle!(yeah CASTLE!) And you are snowed in. But I don't want to give anything else away. You'll see for yourself! This game is soo challenging! It is so worth the money! 5 stars (One of my Favorites!) - Imagine this: you're snowbound in a fancy Wiconsin hotel where you're supposed to be on a ski vacation. The manager just told you someone vandalized the historic library... and you're one of the only four people who made it to the hotel! There's Lisa Ostrum, the journalist who seems a bit too eager to become your friend, Jacque Brunais, a ski instructor from France who just lost the Olympics and is convinced something in the hotel will restore his name, Professor Hotchkiss, an old French teacher who is convinced that Marie Antoinette was a good-hearted person and is destined to prove it, and Mr. Egan the hotel manager who apparently has a criminal record and ties to this hotel. Now you feel it's up to you, as Nancy Drew, to question suspects and unveil a new page in French history. Out of the so far 13 Nancy Drew games, this one...

From the game booklet: "Objective: Suspicious accidents have been occurring at the worksite of the Temple of Amun-Re. As Maya, a young woman skilled as a magician and beloved of the gods, you are sent by Pharaoh to investigate and to ensure that the work is successfully completed. Your mission is connected to the fate of Egypt. Failure will lead to Pharaoh's death and the country's ruin." I had no problems with the game crashing, so I must assume they were trying to save the player the frustration of replaying part of a scene if they should die. I found the game play quite enjoyable. The graphics and movies are nicely done and the dialogs were interesting. Objects were relatively easy to find, and sometimes Maya would even hint "This might be useful later". I sometimes get dizzy with 3D worlds where the mouse movements can get you spinning in multiple directions, but didnt have any trouble with this game. Nancy Drew- Message in a Haunted Mansion

5 stars (Great game!) - I loved the game but I found it a little scary. It was tricky and challenging, so it lasted a long time. It was spooky so I had to run upstairs sometimes and my dad played it for me. 3 stars (just ok...) - MY kids are 8, and this game just did not keep their interest. Although as an adult, I thought it looked interesting. 5 stars (Message in a Haunted Mansion) - Message in a Haunted Mansion is the 3rd Nancy Drew game of the series! I beat it also, and I love it because it is kinda scary. You hear noises, and see ghosts sometimes too! Some parts you'll have to use "Second Chance" which is a great thing to use when you did something wrong, and you need to redo it, so you can do it right. I love this game a lot, thumbs up to DreamCatcher! ...

Echo- Secrets of the Lost Cavern

4 stars (Echo-puzzles etc) - Echo was a fun game with some very inventive puzzles which I really enjoyed. The only real problem that I had with this game was that it was wayyyyyyyyy to short! Enjoy! 4 stars (Hard puzzles) - I really liked this game and liked learning about our ancient history. There was no way I could do the puzzles without the strategy guide. For that reason alone, I dropped the score to 4 stars. 5 stars (Unique Story, Tremendous Fun) - I don't know why someone hasn't thought to make a game around this setting - about 20,000 + years ago before, and still respect what we know about the period. Don't let this scare you. Forget the muscle bound club and kill stuff. Although several of the puzzles are variations on puzzles I've met in several other games, here they are totally in sinc with the story line and tremendous fun. Others are new to me, challenging, and still totally appropriate to the story line. The graphics are extremely good, and in some places - especially good. I really felt like I'd been transported back to that world of our own earliest direct ancestors - the people who did those cave paintings. Not Neaderthal, by the way. The characters' interaction with their world of that time (end of last Ice Age) was neither grating, nor silly. It IS true that the plot isn't all that unusual from the other games I've played, but the way it was done here, given what I've already said, made it totally fresh and TREMENDOUS FUN! There are games that I HAVE played that I enjoyed just as much - for different reasons - but few I've enjoyed more. (Warning: I AM a terminal Syberia fan.) Even the acting was OK! All in all, I couldn't recommend it more highly. Even the price is reasonable! It wasn't difficult giving ECHO 5 stars in BOTH categories. ...

4 stars (Nancy Drew returns in keen retro style on her twelfth adventure) - Nancy Drew turns 75 this year, and she's still got her youthful sense of sleuthing... in fact, she's as keen as when she first came out in 1930. In honour of Nancy's 75th birthday, Her Interactive has set Nancy's newest mystery "Secret of the Old Clock" in 1930s America before the start of the depression. Nancy drives a sporty blue roadster, listens to jazz records, and talks nervously of the possible Depression, while using expressions such as "keen," "horsefeathers" and "the bee's knees." Nancy's first mystery (based on her first two books Secret of the Old Clock and Mystery at Lilac Inn) finds her investigating mysterious happenings at the Lilac Inn. The inn is run by seventeen-year-old orphaned Emily, whose mother died recently, and her guardian Jane Willoughby, but Emily has asked Nancy to come help her. It turns out that she's been hearing things, and various "accidents" have occurred. The plot quickly thickens, leaving Nancy to puzzle out an eccentric millionaire and a forged will that has high stakes for all involved: Jim Archer, banker on the edge of ruin, Richard Topham, "clairvoyant" who lives in the deceased millionaire's house, Emily and her guardian. As with previous titles, a good deal of puzzle solving is chore related, of the "I scratch your back, you scratch mine" mentality. This means that Nancy must complete chores for other characters before she can receive the necessary information (or inventory) to proceed. Some of these are easier than others: arranging pies, catching a 19-inch largemouth bass, finding toys for a children's orphanage, picking up raffle tickets, and sewing a dress (fiendishly hard, and I'm a cross-stitcher!). This game sees the addition of two new features, both of which I found unnecessarily frustrating: Nancy's blue roadster, which must be filled up with gas and keeping an eye out for flat tires, and money, which Nancy must spend to solve puzzles ...

Nancy Drew- Secret Of The Scarlet Hand Jewel Case

4 stars (Interesting characters; etc.) - It's worth the purchase. Very good graphics, sound effects, background music, and interesting interaction with characters. The historical aspect adds interest, as well. You have plenty of tasks to perform, and if you get stuck, you can find help via phonecalls in the game; or online at Her Interactive web site forum. Keep pen and paper nearby to take notes! My favorite Nancy Drew games are: Danger on Deception Island, Secret of Shadow Ranch, and Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake. I like all of the ND games, however, and have played all more than once. 4 stars (First ND game, ) - I liked the game overall, it was different from what I am used to playing (which is good b/c that is why I bought it). What I liked about it: Very challenging, fun tid-bits to learn,"hot spot" indicator, graphics, good hints when needed, playing detective! What I didn't like about it: Some of the puzzles were difficult,the narration task was very lengthy and kina tedious, especially the number tile puzzle. The descriptions of the glyphs were not very helpful. I finally went to a cheat sheet for help. Not being able to dial directly from the desk phone to call for help was discouraging. Many little facts to learn was a fun but if I didn't write things down then it slowed the game down because you had to go back and research them (HERinteractive was a huge help). (...) was great, esp message boards. Spoilers and hints were very helpful because sometimes a nudge in the right direction is what is needed. The only complaint I have is that you can't use "free" email accounts to register which is frustrating. Why not?! Anyways I didn't really have much patience as a detective (it would take me hours just to find the clues) so i usually go for help from the websites, uhs is a really good one, it just tells you where the puzzles are and what you have to do to get to the end but it doesn't totally help you figure out the puzzles, and it doesn't tell you who the murderer is. Anyway I really enjoyed this game it's the second Nancy Drew game I've played besides final scene. WARNING: the characters are two d, i know very disappointing but it's still a very good game. 5 stars (Great ) - THis game was so much fun! it is long but one of the best games i have ever played! 5 stars (Secrets Can Kill (12 year old)) - I've read the book on secrets can kill, it's very good, surprisingly the game was as good! You're undercover Nancy Drew trying to solve a mystery at a small high school in Florida, with a big murder mystery of a boy named Jake, your contact is Daryl, there a puzzles to solve and you'll find each of the suspects have a secret, later in the game you'll find out that Jake silenced them by making them be his servants. Aura- Fate of the Ages

1 stars (I just dont' get it) - I must not be a puzzle game person because I have no idea how anyone could get through these puzzles in a reasonable amount of time. The objects are so alien looking that I have no idea what to do with the things that I have picked up. I found a walk thru online and used it for the Gazebo outside on the first world. If I didn't have that there is no way I would have been able to solve it. Luckly I only paid $7 for this at Electronics Bountique and didn't feel that bad about breaking the CDs in half and throwing everything in the trash in fustration. 5 stars (Couldn't stop playing) - This game is a must if you like Puzzle/adventure games. The puzzles are not as hard as the Myst series or Alone in the Dark which I found refreshing. Can't wait for Aura II. 3 stars (A little stupid but pretty good over all.) - This game has a story but it's flakey and dumb. But the graphics are good and the puzzles are quite good, bordering on exellent! If you buy this game BE SURE TO DOWNLOAD THE PATCH OR YOU WILL HAVE TECH PROBLEMS!! Do a net search for "Aura patch" It should be no problem to find. Once it's patched you are good to go. Fun puzzles. Not the best game but worth the full price nonetheless! ...
