Blood Rayne 2

3 stars (Birthday Present) - Took this Blood Rain Two game over to Carol's house this weekend, as it was Bradley's 13th birthday. Lots of promises has to be made before it was all okayed, no drinking, no negativity, I had to be the "nice guy" even around her new boyfriend, but at least I got spend the day with my son. I think he liked the game. I watched him play it for a while. I dunno, I never liked birthday parties, even when I was a kid. I just sort of sat in the corner, balancing those little paper plates with the art-deco "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" scrawl and pushing the icing and cake around with a plastic fork. The game seems to concern a young woman running around and killing various monsters and Nazis. I sat on the couch behind Brad (he's "Brad" now, not Bradley, and when did this happen and how long've I been calling him Bradley when he was Brad?) and tried to get him to fill me in. He said she's a half-vampire and she hates Nazis. That's about all I got out of him Here is the video game I would like to play: it is me and Bradley, when he was eight. We sit on by the side of a river and fish and watch stream ripple and the bobbers float and we don't catch any fish so we don't have to pull the hook out of that writhing, flopping, gasping dumb thing's mouth, and Bradley doesn't cry, and I don't get mad and worry he's becoming weak and the minivan doesn't stink of fish for two wees afterwards and Carol brings up it everytime we get into the van together "Phewee, it smells like FISH in here," as if I don't smell it, as if she doesn't know exactly what she's doing when she brings it up, and Bradley and I just sit there for a long time, until things are okay. Regardless, I'm pretty sure I could beat up Carol's new boyfriend. Vampire- Bloodlines

4 stars (Great game(and Subtitle) bugged and doesn't get 5 ) - I have never been interested in gothic horror games on the RPG genre until I purchased this(rather on an off chance). I had heard(almost sickeningly too much) praise about Masqerade Redemption but never really got around to buying the title. I love this game and am buying redemption on order as of this writing. Masq Bloodlines lets you pick your clan whereas redemption didn't but it is getting a chance too. I actually like the brujah better than any other clan anyway because he is not only a good fighter but his talants can be put else where at level ups. The bonus to brawl is nice and lets me spend a few on other "talents" like dodge and subterfudge(anyone needs it). Gangrel is also a good choice and is more well rounded than bruja and can "Hulk out" as it were. Allowing a +10 to Strength and others. Don't know if it stacks with animal form though. The option to be evil pays little consequence and can get you on the road to good later(just say, your a misguided fool who learns his lesson thats' all). Suck blood, violate the masq because you get it all back later if you just make the effort. Beasting out is a good thing in the combat zone(and satisfies my hunger to beat sum moron to mush). Mental crazy guy(not the Malkavian) who limbs the bounty guy is a satisfactory beat when you beast out as a Gangrel low on blood and humanity. Priceless! You pick from seven clans(I like them all, not a dud in the bunch like most RPGs). Nosferatu is fun but is hard to scocialise and even if you use the sewer system you get caught quite a lot when you emerge. Cops don't take kindly to you when you view the body on the Pier docks in Santa Moni, only vampires accept you on the beach, no where else are you safe from prying eyes(and cell phone cameras). Dr. David Banner had it easy compared to the acursed cell phone. The RP element is better than any mideval or Space RPG I can think of a few. People praise...

Warcraft- Of Blood and Honor

4 stars (Outstanding, provisionally...) - Mr. Metzen's 'Of Blood and Honor' is a stirring tale of a paladin's struggle between duty and honor. It is also a metaphor for racial hatreds and the blind injustices that sometimes result. I found this short tale charming and immersive. A quick note of caution. This being my first Adobe e-reader format e-book purchase, I was disappointed to discover that the 'permissions' (or lack thereof) make the book unprintable. Also, the download is registered by both the server from which it is downloaded and by the e-reader software on the computer to which it is downloaded. Ultimately, what this means is: Make sure you are willing to read this only from a monitor. You also cannot make backup copies, nor can you download the book again if something goes amiss (although I'm sure with a quick e-mail, Amazon.com will hook you up). Technical media issues aside, the book is worth the price. Enjoy it. 4 stars (Overall Well Written) - Blood and Honor was very comparable to Day of the Dragon, the other Warcraft book. The character of Fordring and the inner turmoil he faces are very well developed and the impact that his decisions have make for some wonderful plot twists. The book does a great job at foreshadowing more to come and there's even some surprise visitors in the book! Probably my only complaint and this is minor is the appearence of certain characters in the novel that I had believed something else had occured to them in the games. This is maybe a little picky and doesn't detract from the overall story, just thought it was interesting. I highly recommend this book, it's a quick read and keeps those epages turning! ...

1 stars (worst possible game ever?) - ok here my "TRUE REVIEW" :this game is beyond whacky-when you shoot an enemy there is no reaction!I stood face to face shot at least 1o times all hits/but they dont react?!!!!suppressing fire ruins the whole thing,you must"suppress"every idiot before they can be shot(total stupidity at best)also confusing health meter am i hurt? cant tell how badly hurt.got perfect victory level 1 so what!level 2 so dumb turned off game PERMANNENT.and that is the truth.not even worth renting.peace out jp 5 stars (AMAZING SEQUEL) - Man when my friend got BIA: Earned in Blood, I totally expected the same from the first game. (which was great) But when I sent my guys on a full scale charge around the back, the germans actually attacked me where I was attacking! The AI will actually attempt to flank YOU if you leave that area ungaurded. A new graphics engine makes buildings blow up around you if they are hit by and 88 or something like that. Also, everyone remembers the cool knockdown sequence when Baker was hit by a grenade or something, now depending on the blast, you actually have to go and get your gun that flew out of your hand. The new skrimish mode is pretty cool as well. But they can get really tough playing as the germans. I bought my own copy aproxmately half an hour after playing it. BIA: Earned in Blood is the best WW2 game you will see all year. 5 stars (Awesome Sequel!) - I was a huge fan of the first Brother's in Arms (Road to Hill 30) and this sequel (Earned in Blood) lives up to the original and surpasses it! First, let me get the negatives out of the way... 1. There are some sound issues when firing the weapons. Occasionally in the heat of battle, there will be a delay in sound when firing your weapons. This only occured a few times when I played through the game. (probably like 4 or 5 times....it's no biggy) 2. 1 stars (BROTHERS IN ARMS EARNED IN BLOOD) - THIS GAME IS NOT WORTH THE FIFTY DOLLARS I SPENT ON IT. THE ACTION IS JERKY, SIGHTS ARE WAY OFF, INFO BOX'S POP UP AT THE WORST TIMES,ND IT TAKES SEVEN TO TEN ROUNDS TO KILL ONE GERMAN SOLDER. THE CARBINE IS USELESS AND THE YOU NEED A BAR OR MACHINE GUN TO STAND A CHANCE TO GET A HIT. 1 stars (wish it worked, and then there's the starforce....) - I just installed my copy and the game will not accept the serial number that's clearly printed on the manual. So I'm thinking of just uninstalling it.. Then I have to deal with removing the Starforce crap as well. What else needs to be said. BTW There are no support email addrs listed at their website. 1 stars (STARFORCE !!!) - I haven't played it, nor will I. After looking over Reviews/Forums, it appears Ubisoft has now embedded STARFORCE in their PC games. I contacted Ubisoft and they were less than forthcoming about STARFORCE. I read too many posts about this anti-piracy program: how it corrupts ones hard drive; it can't be removed etc. The customer service rep said: yes, this game uses STARFORCE; any other questions you may have should be directed to STARFORCE support. Makes you wonder why they don't include this info on the game box; why they don't have any info at the Ubisoft site. Or maybe they don't include this information for a reason: loss of revenue. I was so looking forward to this game. Since I own Far Cry and Splinter Cell-PT which must be run on a plain CD-ROM drive. I was going to give in and get one installled(...I'm physically disabled and unable to do it) in order to play Ubisoft games. You can read the forums/reviews about STARFORCE and decide for yourself if you want to risk it ? Shame, this company puts out good games. I hope this doesn't become an industry trend. 4 stars (When the Going Gets Weird) - Reading "Hey Rube" is a bit of a disorienting experience. Doc narrates his gambling-man take on parts of four different football seasons, and it all starts to run together long before the paperback concludes on page 243. Honestly, by the end, I couldn't keep track of who had won which Super Bowl, and whether or not HST beat the point spread. Are the Raiders still in the league? Reading a collection of ESPN.com colums covering November 2000 through October 2003 in something far quicker than real time is perhaps not the way Hunter S. Thompson is meant to be read. The columns that stuck in my memory, oddly enough, were not the Gonzo columns (except for the stories about Prince "Omar" running through the 2001 World Series). The single column take on Dale Earnhardt's death at the Daytona was the first reprint in the book to grab me by the lapels of my T-shirt. The discussion of the Honolulu Marathon raises a point so amazing I can't believe I hadn't read it elsewhere before -- in what other sport do professionals and amateurs compete on the same course and the same time? I wish the editing of "Hey Rube" had been a bit tighter. The back cover blurb promises "critics' favorites, and never-before-published columns"... without identifying inside the book which is which. The first "Hey Rube", from November 2000, is printed out of sequence and highlighted on a gray background.... and that's the only column in the collection to be given special treatment. Finally, the paperback ends in mid-October 2003, not compiling the balance of HST's columns through February 2005. We thus miss his take on the 2004 Presidential election. Did Kerry win? Did Doc cover the 3-point popular vote spread? ESPN.com still has these final columns archived. 4 stars (Good step forward) - I'm not finished reading yet, but I've learned some very important information to helop me get and keep my blood sugar levels in a normal and safe range. 4 stars ( Dr RIchard Bernsteins Completre Guide to Normal Blood Sugars ) - I found this book to be valuable ifor the resources, which is in and of itself extremely important, and his common sense approach, which is necessary to keep from the worn out phrase "leading authority", goodness knows we have too many of those these days, and it ends up a work of art and refeshing in it's honest approach. Do this and this is the rusult you will arrive at. TRUE. As for me he is a hero, however I simply cannot live on 25 carbs a day. MADELINE B OGLE PhD 5 stars (A LIFESAVER-IF YOU'RE SERIOUS ABOUT YOUR HEALTH ) - Like others who have reviewed the book, I had very poor blood sugar control on the ADA diet. I hit rock bottom in 2004 when I suffered several weeks of blindness, and was unable to work. I have now lost about forty pounds, and have average blood sugar readings in the 120 range. Previously, my average would have been at least one hundred points higher. When I get off the diet, my blood sugar goes right back into the two and three hundred range instantly. I have had improvement in symptoms. For example, the feeling in my extermities is much better. For the present, my diabetic retinopathy has stabilized, which I pray will continue. I do not find the diet change to be much of a sacrifice. That might be because I experienced the horror of having the disease completely take over my life. It can be inconvenient to eat out, but with a little creativity, I have a diverse and appealing menu. I have not been to Dr. Bernstein's clinic, but hope to go eventually. I recommend the book to any diabetic I meet, and consider it the principle reason for the improvement in my health. ...
