5 stars (Great relaxation CD!) - I purchased this CD for my kids (ages 9 & 6)about a year ago. They love it and so do I. At first they were both a little giggly at it but then after a night or two they were asking for it and it began to be part of our nightime ritual. I love it as well and have found it to be very relaxing myself. I have some of my own relaxation CD's that I listen to and this CD uses the same methods for relaxation but in a kid friendly way! It's just great. I'm looking for another one for some variety. 5 stars (Indigo Dreams) - This is a great relaxation CD. I purchased it for my 9 year old son, who is having problems with night terrors and anxiety in general. Since we have started listening to it to go to sleep, the night terrors have significantly decreased and he seems more relaxed overall. I highly recommend this CD -- it is a great way to teach children how to relax. 5 stars (Great for the entire family!) - I recently ordered this CD for my 4 yr old daughter. The first night we listened to it together, and she enjoyed it very much. Even I managed to follow the stories and relax right along with her. It helped her fall to sleep and have a restful night. 5 stars (An absolut MUST-READ!) - The LikeAbility philosophy, as Tim cleary explains, is much needed in our world. Tim's research is thorough and has depth. The concept is simple to grasp, yet challenging to implement in our daily lives. His practical advice and exercises are very valuable and easy to follow. Congratulations to an inspiring and excellent book, Tim. 4 stars (A Great Message ) - This kind of message may seem obvious but it is amazing how important it is to be likeable! It's not always easy and I do think it takes practise, especially in business. Often we are so busy to get all the work done that we can forget to take time to really be nice - especially when situations are chaotic. Tim is on the right track and I look forward to his next book. 3 stars (Somewhat Interesting) - Sanders' book is short, and interesting - up to a point. He briefly cites evidence that being likeable (having an interest in others, listening to them, etc.) is linked to good health, improved job retention, overall success, better quality time with a physician, greater liklihood of getting elected, and significantly reduced chance of divorce. Also, "nice" physicians are less likely to be sued, and more likely to win if they are. All useful points. But what about Leo Durocher's "Nice guys finish last" philosophy? I guess that's another book. ...

When I decided to read this book, I was expecting it to focus solely on leadership issues within the church. However, as I read through it, I kept applying the sound leadership lessons to my secular job! Very simply, I could not put down "Leading from the Second Chair." As all of us answer to an ultimate "first chair," most of us also answer to or work for someone else. Good, practical tips on how to blossom and be content as an effective leader in a subordinate role is what this book is all about. I think anyone who decides to read "Leading from the Second Chair" will be glad they did! ...

Embers Falling on Dry Grass- Prologue to Knife of Dreams

4 stars (A good start to Knife of Dreams. We'll see if it holds up) - Embers Falling on Dry Grass is probably the best prologue to the Wheel of Time since perhaps the scenes with the Dark One in Lord of Chaos. While it lacks the drama of some of the other prologues, it does advance plot nicely. Without ruining things, in this prologue we have Galad (identical to the publicly available free preview), Rodel Ituralde carrying out an attack, Suroth playing Seanchan high politics, Red and Black Ajah intrigues in the White Tower, Perrin plotting strategy, and last but not least Egwene. At 140 pages this more of a couple of chapters than a prologue, but in larger text it is far less of a burden than that of Crossroads. It's hard to tell if this is more than just a good start for Knife of Dreams, but at least Jordan hasn't made the mistake as in previous books of introducing substantial new characters and plotlines in the prologue (although if Ituralde's plotline only appears in prologues one wonders why Jordan even bothered.) Is it worth $3.50? Arguably, and at least with Amazon you can download it as many times as you want as opposed to other sources. I do take a star off for the fact this is discounted elsewhere where Amazon is asking full retail. Also keep in mind you can't save this on a local hard drive or print it, so make sure you have a good solid internet connection and plenty of time to read before downloading. Still, we'll see if the trend advancing plots in the prologue holds up for KoD. Certainly better edited than the past, which makes me hope for the rest of the book. 5 stars (Finally, a Great Prologue!) - I finished up the prologue in a few days and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by how focused the story was. I felt as if the story lines are finally weaving their way back into final thread. The prologue is broken up into little stories and I was happy to see some of them involved major characters such as Egwene and Perrin. Embers ...
