Apple Final Cut Express HD Mac

5 stars (Great Program!!) - This is a great program for your mac... I've used it in a film class the previous year and it took me a year to really get the hang of it. Because it has no tutorial I recomend you find someone who has used this and get them to give you a few lessons. 4 stars (Just starting out -- and it's daunting, but feature rich.) - I've used iMovie for several projects over the last year and a half and decided to upgrade to Final Cut Express HD when working on video of my wife's niece's wedding. Apple sells it as an a step up in features from iMovie, but -- wow! -- it give you a lot more flexibility but at a huge cost in complexity too! The Apple magic of making something simple enough to let you concentrate on the creativity and not the mechanics of the project seems missing here. IMPORTANT: An employee at the Apple Store near me confided to me that there is very little difference between Final Cut Pro HD and Final Cut Express HD. The extra $700 for the Pro version allows outputting your movie in broadcast quality -- if you don't need that, he said, you can save $700 and buy the Express version. I had just seen the employee give a short in-store class on Final Cut Pro and he said I could do EVERYTHING he did in the class EXACTLY the same way in Final Cut Express! He said the only way you could tell which is which is by the name in the menu bar! (Maybe this is common knowledge in the Final Cut Pro/Express community, but I couldn't find out exactly what was different on Apple's website.) IMPORTANT: There is NO TUTORIAL included for Final Cut Express -- and if you've never worked with "pro" video editing software, you'll probably need to buy a how-to book. I'm currently reading the Peachpit Press "Final Cut Express" book by Lisa Brenneis (ISBN: 0-321-35026-X). Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2- The Sith Lords

4 stars (No Title(still)) - Knights of the Old Republic is the infamous 2003 game of the year. But the sequal is anything but game of the year material. I think that the one thing people liked about the first game was the detail, characters, and the plot twists. Okay, lets start in the detail. Once agian, the Bioware team knock my socks off with their insanly detailed character models, mabey not Halo or Metroid pixals, but it checks out in my book. Number dos, the characters. You once agian get thrown in with the oddest asortment of torture droids, jedi masters, and hot redhead bounty hunters. Thought some of your party members do reveal Revan's secrets -cough Keria- you can't find any party members famaly like you did with almost your whole party in the last game, although you do need some backround influnce to turn them into jedis'. The cameo aperences are extreme cameos, you see 10 seconds of Admiral Carth Onasi other than that, you have your two favorite droids in your posse (not C3-PO & R2), and HK-47 has some nice opions and voice recitings of Carth and the nice kissing scene with you and Bastaila, yep, HK heard it. The plot was intresting enough, but I think their should be better voice overs and less talking on Telos. I don't want to go too far into the plot, but heres a qustion before I leave. People and magazines hyped Darth Nithilus way too much and gave him a micro sized part in the game, why? Peace Out Shorties 1 stars (a disaterous hole in gaming) - WARNING:THIS GAME IS INCOMPLETE AND WILL LEAVE GAMERS FRUSTRATED AND BORED OUT OF THEIR RESPECTIVE WITS! The Sims 2 University Expansion Pack

5 stars (A great addition to the Sims 2!) - I was not very excited when I bought this game, but now I see that I should have been. The Sims 2 University is great! There are lots of new things you can do with your sims. So here are the pros and cons: Pros 1. Having been playing this game for about 3 months, I haven't noticed any glitches other than the usual Sims 2 glitches (freezing, etc.) 2. Sending your sims to college is surprisingly easy. As long as they have some skills that they have built from childhood, they progress rapidly through the eight semesters. Once they graduate, it is much easier to get them good jobs and thus you are much more able to fulfill their aspirations. 3. Your sims now have "Lifetime Aspirations". These aspirations are linked to their normal aspirations (Family, Knowledge, etc.) and are usually quite difficult to fulfill. For example, a family lifetime aspiration might be "Have six children get married" and a knowledge lifetime aspiration might be "Max out 6 skills". These aspirations are difficult, but add more interest to the game, so that all your knowledge sims, for instance, don't have the exact same lives. Once you have achieved the lifetime aspiration, your sim remains on platinum aspiration for the rest of his/her lifetime. (You can still earn aspiration points, though.) 4. There are lots of new objects, including the instruments (guitar, bass, drum kit, etc.) and a few extra rewards such as the plastic surgery kit and the cash machine. Cons 1. Sending your sims to college is fun, but it takes quite a long time for them to graduate. While it's not very difficult for them to pass all their tests, it is time consuming. 2. I was disappointed to learn that the NPC's still don't grow up with your sims. (I'm quite tired of having all my teenage sims fall in love with the same boys who will never grow up. Lavasoft Ad-Aware Plus Edition

1 stars (adaware) - slowed a new system down too much when running in backgroud. Went back to free verison. 1 stars (Gouge you coming and going.) - The updates are frequent and expensive. Good program, but it's not worth the trouble and expense of upgrading. 4 stars (Good Product, But The Upgrade Should Have More) - For more than a year now, I have been using Ad-Aware. I love it. The program scans for spyware, adware, hijackers, keyloggers, and common trojans (but Norton is the one that takes out the trojans). So far, I am happy with this product. Even though I have never had anything bad on my computer (just cookies...mmm, cookies), my friend sure has had his share with MiniBug, Axela, eZula, FunWebProducts, and some others, and Ad-Aware completely removes it. And it does it all for free (yes, you can get the personal version free at Lavasoft's website). So what's something that Ad-Aware Personal doesn't do? Real-time. You'll notice on the personal version that if you click on Ad-Watch to enable Real-Time, it will state "Realtime protection not avaliable in the personal edition.". So, I checked out the plus edition. So, I did a test on an old computer, and installed eZula. That's right, it didn't go through. Right when it reached, an Ad-Aware pop-up stated "eZula was found at C:/(whatever). Would you like to remove?". Wow! Amazing! One thing that is doesn't do is block most pop-ups. This is dissappointing, mainly because competetors like SuperAdBlocker/SuperAntiSpyware has a great pop-up blocker along with everything Ad-Aware has. But, SuperAdBlocker doesn't have real-time, and Ad-Aware does. I'd recommend getting both. For now, if the computer is in a school, hotel, or airport of such, getting the plus edition wouldn't be a bad idea. But if you just use it for home, just keep the free personal edition. There aren't that many spyware programs that do things virus do, but I HAVE SEEN SOME that restart computers and add odd programs, such things trojans do. Thou...

5 stars (This game is the greatest) - The Robots game is really cool. It is fun and there are a lot of suprises in it. It's fun when you turn around and a garbage can is shooting stuff at you. I like when the Wonderbot does tricks for you. The game is really fun, and I hope there will be a Robots 2. 5 stars (Yeah Robots The Game!) - Robots The Game rocks! It is full of adventure. Warioware- Touched-

4 stars (do not touch the bad) - Wario Ware touch is a great game but here are my complaints 1. i got the game on Saturday evening and beat THE WHOLE GAMEon Monday after school. 2. their is a lot of gross and mean things in this game. Like nose picking and killing animals But the characters are great the game is a blast and if you think you can handle weird stuff then I would buy it. 4 stars (4/5) - the next sequel after sonic adventrue this is the same gameplay as sonic adventure 2 on the dreamcast much better graphics, more character, more gameplay and 2 player :D. remmbr Sonic Adventure and Sonic Battle are both the same, is just sonic battle is when the character fight, and sonic adventure is sonic's adventure 5 stars (BUY IT!!!!!!!BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) - Sonic.... deffidently used to be the best game franchise. 4 stars (ViaVoice - easier than I thought.) - This program works better than I expected. I only took a short time to get my voice set up. I didn't clock it, so I might have taken more time than I thought, but I was enjoying the experience, so It was not difficult. If you have trouble typing and want a great program to help you easily produce text documents, You'll love this program. 5 stars (A great invention!) - This is a great item. It is fun to use. It works very well for me. It is easy enough to set up. Then with patience and doing a little reading to help program it you can use it quite efficiently. And it is easy to transfer to another place like wordpad or emails. I found that I could send longer emails to my mom because all I had to do is speak my thoughts out loud!!! If your words dont come through clearly just do a little reading again. 1 stars (ViaVoice - very disappointing) - You don't get your money's worth with ViaVoice. At first, it seemed to work fine. Contrary to what the program is supposed to do, the more I used it, the worse it got. "Training" the software is extremely time consuming. However, I did this in hopes of improving its performance. Unfortunately, after spending all the time doing that, it was actually worse, not better. It has finally gotten so bad I cannot use the application at all. As I am dictating, it throws in random words which can't possibly have anything to do with what I am saying, some of them foreign. Dictate, "Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country," and you are likely to get "Avarice now is the Bois time for all good men to Gwendolyn." Help is impossible to find, and if you go to the IBM or ScanSoft site, you have to pay for it. Do not buy this software. ...

Linspire Five 0 CNR Edition

4 stars (Do not but this product from Amazon or anyone else except Linspire!) - The product is great and loads in about 20 min. (except for the CNR activation). It is simpler to use than the latest versions of Windows. If you buy this product from Linspire, it seems that the activation of CNR is automatic. If you buy it from anyone else you will think you are trying to activate a MICROSOFT PRODUCT OR WORSE. Then after I jumped through all of the hoops, I get this email from the Linspire Team: "It's been several days since you've signed up, and we've noticed that you haven't yet purchased the CNR Service." A good product - just don't buy it from here! 3 stars (3 stars because it has bash, the rest I don't like) - As far as linux goes I would not recommend this distro. reason 1- It is to dumbed down to be all that good,It is harder to work with then suse or mandrake. reason 2- It was ok for them to call themselves lindows to upset microsoft but now they are mad because a distro out there is called freespire. come on people get a life, that is what linux has been about sharing the code for the better of everyone. reason 3- They charge for what most other distros offer for free to me they are too close to microsoft. now for the positive notes. 1 bash is still the login shell and that alone offers a lot of power. 2 kde is still a great desktop to work with. 3 the most important thing it is still linux so that is still better than M$ or apple.
