4 stars (Must-have fun for the PSP) - Finally, GTA is here for the PSP. If you are still deciding whether to get this or not, I say go for it. While GTA: LCS is not the "killer app" that GTA 3 was for the PS2, it's nonetheless tons of fun and endless excitment, coupled with lots of handheld violence and one-person mayhem. There's no doubt that this is simply the best PSP game so far, and it takes full advantage of the PSP's processing and graphic powers. The graphics is fantastic on the PSP, and the framerate for the most part excellent. A couple times you'll notice some choppiness, but otherwise it's just like on the good ol' PS2. The controls are mostly good, except this game inherits the maddening aiming scheme from GTA 3, so when you are in the middle of a Godfather-like shootout, you'll wish for better aiming controls. But that's just a minor complaint. What stopped me from rating this 5 stars -- my inclination is to give it an overall rating of 4.5 stars (90%) -- is the level design is just too similar to GTA 3. You are back in Liberty City, with pretty much the same layouts. Neighborhood names have changed, but otherwise the environment and the characters look (and sound) exactly the same. The gameplay is also pretty much the same, which is great but at the same time a little, shall we say, hackneyed. Still, this is a must-have title for any PSP gamers. 5 stars (Can someone please answer my question?) - I have a PSP and I want to get this game really badly. But I read in previous reviews for this game that the system software has to be at least 2.0 or higher to play this game. The system software on my PSP is 1.50! So my question is, can I upgrade my PSP by using the GTA umd? 5 stars (Liberty City Stories) - A mini crime opera, complete with pint-size bottles of blood, micro-chipped caches of street-smart lingo, fun-size dollops of violence and doggie-bag portability. A veritable miracle of compression, perhaps the best complement to LCS is that ... 5 stars (The Sun Is Shinning Bright For Vice City) - Vice City was my first game in the GTA series. I started playing it and just by reading the manual I was already blown away by it. This game is so realistic, and not just becuase of it's awsome graphics. The story is very engaging to the player, and the town is just like walking down Malibu Beach. The characters are real, and the dialoge with the movies get you really involved with the game. It's a game that you think about all day in school then rush home so you can play it. Besides the story and the actual game, there is a lot more to the game. You can go on Rampage Missions where you have to kill gang members in a certain amount of time, street racing, watching strippers, stunt bonus's to get more money, or stealing cop cars, taxies, tanks, fire trucks, or ambulances and doing missions for them. So once you finish the game, there still is a lot more to play. This probaly is one of the best PC games I have ever played, it is both a visual and emotional gaming experiance that should bring a smile to your face everytime you play it. It's a lot better than most cop/ mafia/ shooter games becuase unlike most GTA actually has a story that is unique and makes sense, and is easy to follow. It's kind of like starring in a Mob film..but you just don't get paid for it. Yeah, but anyways, the game is a lot of fun and for anyone that's a fan of shooter/ action games this is a great game for you. Graphics- 8.5/10, for it's time they're good, but for now idk. Story- 9/10, it keeps you going and never gets dull or too out of hand. Weapons- 9.5/10, you can use anything from Brass Kunckles to Rocket Launchers. Vehicles- 9/10, There's a pretty good range of cars from cheap cars to fancy sports cars. You also can drive mopeds, choppers, dirt bikes, and motorcycles. As well as Taxis, ambulances, cop cars, fire trucks, bus's, helicopters, boats, and yaucts. So yeah the game pretty much is awsome. BUY IT....NOW! 5 stars (A posi... 4 stars ( The Warriors (PS2)) - The Warriors for the PS2 & XBOX was released in 2005 which happens to be the 25th anniversary of the original cult classic film which follows a gang as they struggle to return home after being accused of shooting Cryus, the president of the bigest gang in the city. The game was made by RockStar which means it's gonna be violent, filled with bad language, similiar to Grand Theft Auto (but without guns) and of course not for children. As for many comparing it to Grand Theft Auto, they have a point. It does play rather similiar though as stated above there are no weapons and no cars either. In this game instead you use one of nine "Warriors" and beat living crap out of someone with your fists of a melee weapon (Baseball bats, bottles.) And if the games 23 Story missions were not enough, they have also added in Flashback Levels which show and allow you to play levels that explain how the Warriors were formed. This game is truely a great addition to any serious gamers pile and will have you entertained for days. One of the best things about this game is the fact that for each level you complete you are awarded characters from other gangs to play as in Rumble Mode. There are roughly 200 to unlock. 5 stars (Making an old favorite that much better.) - I heard a rumor about this game months and months ago. I tried to keep an eye out, but i rarely get the scoop anymore. Especialy because all of the independent game stores in my area closed. So when i heard they announced a release date i rushed to the site and watched everyhting. I was excited. My excitement has not ended. By this point i'm sure you have an idea of what the warriors is about, but allow me to indulge in case you don't. The warriors should own NYC. They prove it July 13th 1979 when they are wrongly accused of murder of a pretty heavy cat, and must make it from one side of the city to other. Back home to Coney island. Needless to say they make it back, but this game allow... Rockstar Games :: the :: warriors :: rockstar :: games :: games :: video :: games :: thewarriors 18 october :: 200 :: The Warriors
5 stars (Great movie, great game) - The game brings the movie to life with nice graphics & game play. The controller setup is pretty easy to master after playing the game for a few minutes. The story various lines are interesting and add flavor to the game. 5 stars (A Great Buy) - I was scared when I bought this. I'm a teacher and don't have a lot of money to throw around. I thought I should wait until the price went down. I am so happy I didn't. This game is a blast!!! Great story. FANTASTIC fight scenes. Challenges and extras. I played it... finished it after a week or so... and immediately started over. This games replay value is great. In the positive, this game has a lot going for it -varied fight styles for each character -easily mastered controls for all the moves -ability to "rumble" outside of the story with any gang you like -plus, those rumbles can be one on one or have up to nine guys per gang!!! That was awesome!! Although the Baseball Furies ate me for breakfast. -Great visuals. I love how each gang is introduced with the freeze frame. -Remarkably great and cheesy bonus game at the end. That was way fun. -Bonus missions that tell how the gang was formed. Fun from a game perspective and very entertaining for grizzled old fans of the movie like myself. -Best replay value of any game I've seen in two years. -Lots of insides in the story for the fan of the movie. Some downsides -Gets a bit confusing when all the fighters are standing in one spot. I end up hitting my own guys alot. -Lots of time spent trying to beat a gang's boss. I hate that but these bosses are few (maybe a half dozen) and relatively easy to pass (compared to other games) -May be too violent and criminal for some and was right on the edge for me. You make money by mugging people and you get your health from a pusher. Authentic, sure, but not something you want the church group playing. -Language. This game definitely earns its M rating. In the end, the perks FAR ... Rockstar Games :: xb :: the :: warriors :: rockstar :: games :: games :: video :: games :: xbthewarriors 18 october :: 200 :: XB The Warriors
